Join Women's Heart and Soul Circle of Self-Care

Women are often socialized to prioritize the needs of others and see their own needs as secondary or

...They often feel they have no choice but to take care of others first, which leaves them short on time, resources, and energy to take care of themselves, it’s not unusual for women to feel stressed, burnout, and unsatisfied with how life is going. What does it mean to take care of ourselves?

Can we finally stop thinking of “self-care” as optional, a luxury and selfishness. A true definition of self-care can be defined as, “the actions one takes on their own behalf in service of their well-being.”

Many have said it well, “we cannot pour out to others from an empty cup or vessel.” Yet we continue to drain the cup or vessel dry, burn the candle at both ends and demand our bodies, minds, hearts and soul show up for our pouring out. Become discouraged and berate ourselves when we struggle to give others what we don’t have.

The women who make up a Self-Care Circle are from all walks of life. Some women have suffered a significant loss and are in a season of grieving and need to include self-care as part of their healing journey.

Some women have been or are in the role of care-giver to a family member or professionally and need to incorporate self-care into their daily or weekly routine.

Some are parenting, single-parenting or taking care of aging or elderly parents who need round-the-clock care and the care of self-is essential if they are to continue caring for others in a health way.

Some are grieving “living losses.” Meaning they may have a loved one who is incarcerated, missing, trapped in an abusive relationship or other circumstances that drain their emotions and mind every day; from waking till sleeping, and need to practice self-care for their mental, emotional, physical and spiritual well-being.

Some have been diagnosed with diseases or chronic conditions that require a new way of taking care in order to have a good quality of life and self-care can no longer be last but must come first or be just as important as the care they give others.

Some are in aging bodies and know they need to do something different in this  stage of life, no longer willing to neglect care of self so they can enjoy longevity and experience a new kind of well-being and strength.

Whatever your reasons for joining women’s self-care circle, you can expect to find an atmosphere of love, acceptance, compassion, support, empowerment, healing, self-discovery, and joy.
